Presbyopia in adults

What is presbyopia?

Presbyopia is a normal aging process of the eye. The first cause is the aging of the lens which hardens and scleroses. The lens loses elasticity. This is when the muscles that act on this lens will gradually become too rigid. The eye will no longer be able to reproduce a clear image. In the majority of cases, presbyopia appears around the age of 40.

Symptoms

  • Blurry near vision
  • Eye fatigue
  • Difficulty reading when moving your smartphone or book away
  • You are enlarging the writing on your screens
  • Your eyes narrow when you look closely
